The Seven Questions


In the evaluation the following seven questions must be addressed. . .

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

We challenged the stereotypical viewpoint of the woman being the main character in a fantasy film as we used a man to portray this, he has a sort of soft and emotional side to him as he tries to hide his feelings because of their ego.                                                                                                           We also developed an element of magic throughout our film to make it realistic. However we have chosen too challenge these forms to make it more intresting.
 How does your media product represent particular social groups? 

This question can link back too question one as we represented the teenager era because of their intrests and attitudes. However, not at a stereotypical level as teenagers as teenagers are seen different in todays generation as teenagers try to be vunerable and naive as they are passionate into doing things without thinking or taking nay risks.Teenagers are also seen as irresponsible and carefree as they dont listen to what others say but listen to what the heart says.

Sam is seen mature for his age whereas Mellisa is seen innocnet and an emotional girl who keeps her feelings in her.

 What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

All throughout the time of our research, it was difficult to find just a few institutions which might support our media product however with more knowledge into this there was result which we knew could be used for our film.
The example of films that are similar to our film:
  • Twilight (Eclipse) (Breaking Dawn)
  • Alice in wonderland
  • Prince of Persia: The sands of time
  • Toy story 3
  • Harry Potter and the deathly hallows
  • The avengers
  • The tooth fairy

All these films are examples of fantasy films which are similar to ours

 Who would be the audience for your media product? 

Our target audience would range from the ages of 15 and upwards, anyone who would be interested in this sort of genre especially when the plot may be hard to understand. The audience would also have to have an open mind about the film's motives, and that is to explore different ranges of genres, not just of the norm.

 How did you attract/address your audience? 
There were many ways we addressed our audience, these were through:

  • Social Networking (Facebook, Youtube)
  • Word of mouth
  • Posters/Pictures
At first our storyline was complicated as it needed level of time for audeinces to understand the plot and genre. But this helped to promote our film and also produced and idea of the results.
 What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? 

We have learnt many things from the result of constructing the media product of ours, including the technologies and the process of it. There have been computers involved and cameras too which have benefited the media product in a very successful way.


 Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? 

From us all, we have evaluations where we have talked and established that the project has helped us form a wide analyse of media on the whole, especially the media and the film industry.
